Maker & Son
Maker and Son is a family-run luxury upholstered furniture business with handmade production. The goal was to redesign the website and improve the conversion rate. M&S has a website for the USA, New Zealand, and Australia.
How to show a lot of content without making the crowed design? This is a common question among entrepreneurs who just want to set up a website and start selling in different countries to see if they are on the correct track. We decided to find a solution for those needs and the Shopify platform was taken for a start.
This project was made by Margarita Perfileva as Lead UI/UX Designer, during work with Napollo. She was responsible for managing processes on each step from hand sketches, wireframing, prototyping to launch.
We had ownership and responsibility for the product and its user experience. Paper wireframes and many prototypes were created to find possibly the easiest way to creating an informative website. All without coding skills. Conversion rates were improved by 75% just fixing minor UX problems.
Wireframes and prototypes – multiple solutions to find the best possible user flow
It took many iterations, ideas, and tests within our team to get a common agreement. The process was meant to be simple even for a grandpa. The most challenging parts were selecting only the most needed functionalities to fulfill needs, identifying, and removing redundant actions.
A lot of changes were made on the product page, and home page. The goal is to show the big amount of content with comfort for customers, payment options, as well as the types of materials on one page. For the convenience of customers, a section with recommended products was added as well as customer reviews for building trusting relationships with clients.
